The synopsis:

Sienna Jensen had no plans to return home when she graduated college last spring—after all, her dreams lie in California. But when she discovers her grandmother’s Nashville home has been foreclosed, and the new owner has started the eviction process, Sienna has no other choice but go back to Music City. And she comes face to face with the flawed, gorgeous man she never thought she’d see again. The man who now holds the deed to her grandma’s estate.

When millionaire rock star Lucas Wolfe finds the outspoken redhead glaring at him from across a courtroom, he’s both infuriated and intrigued. He still can’t get the night Sienna almost spent with him out of his mind, and the chemistry between them is as undeniable as it was two years ago. He craves Sienna more than ever. And just like everything Lucas hungers for, he’s determined to have her.

Now, Lucas will do whatever it takes to lure Sienna into his bed, even if that means making a deal with her: ten days with him, playing by his rules, and he’ll hand over the deed to her grandmother’s home. Though she agrees to the arrangement, Sienna is conflicted. Because of her duty to her family. Because of promises she’s made to herself and a past that still haunts her. And as Lucas’s game of seduction continues, and Sienna is introduced to his dark, erotic world and even darker background, she realizes that at any moment, she could be devoured.

My review:

Who doesn’t like a hot Rock Star?  I sure do.  I have liked books with musicians forever.  I will read anything with a Rock Star lead.  So when someone suggested Devoured to me I jumped right on it no questions asked and can I just say I am so glad I did because it is a wonderful story.

In the book we meet Sienna a young girl who comes from a somewhat dysfunction home.  Sienna has learned to be the pleaser to keep the peace amongst her loved ones.  She loves her family members but does not necessarily like them, apart from her maternal grandmother, who she adores.  After hearing some unsettling news about the possible loss of her childhood home due to foreclosure she goes back to help her grandmother and comes face to face with Lucas Wolfe, a one time almost one night stand.

“It’s also the exact same grin he gave me two years ago, right after I refused to let him cuff me to his bed, and just before he literally told me to get the fuck out of the house.” This quote is found within 5% into the book and this is where I read the book non stop without taking a break.  I wanted to know what happened and what Lucas was all about.  I was not disappointed.

The novels POV is in first person from Sienna’s point of view.  Normally I am not a huge fan of single narration, I like getting inside the head of both lead characters, but in this case it worked perfectly.  I think Sienna is the one that is on a journey in this book and I found that for all intents and purposes it is her story.

Sienna’s character was incredibly likable to me she is sweet, kind, smart, and very endearing.  On occasion I would get frustrated with her, but most of the time I found her immensely enjoyable.

Lucas Wolfe, is a sexy, domineering, hot, and arrogant rock star.  Enough said.  Wait no he is sexy, I know I already said that but oh my.  Let me just clarify one thing about Lucas, he isn’t a Dom.  I have read enough books with real Dom’s to tell you that Lucas is not one.  He is more into control and minor kink in the bedroom, at least in this first installment in the series.  I would say that Lucas has a similar intensity as Gideon Cross in Sylvia Day’s Bared to you.  Actually that is the perfect comparison, if you liked Gideon you will like Lucas hands down.

Here are some of my favourite quotes.

“Tiny flicks of his tongue that causes my body to burn.  He turns eating, something that is so basic, into a seductive art.”

“And now Kylie’s succeeded in making me feel like I’m going on my first date and my mom is telling me not to let the horny boy touch my boobs”

“I was drawn to his music, the way his voice had a way of tearing away my layers and digging to my very core.”

“Lucas Wolfe, the most commanding man I’ve ever met, let’s me sob into the front of his white shirt, allows me to drip mascara all over him.”

There are more lines.  Theses are just a few quotations I liked.  This book is a wonderful, sexy, short read.  Right after I finished I wanted the second in the series.  All I can say is if you like strong, sexy, tattooed, alpha men with shall I say talents in the bedroom then this book is for you.

Thank you so much Emily Snow for such an enjoyable read.  I cannot wait for the continuation of Sienna and Lucas’ story.

I give Devoured 4 stars
